The Founder
Triveni Nursing Home needs no introduction among the Ayurvedic fraternity. It has created a benchmark name in hospital industry. It started functioning as an out- patient clinic under Dr. K. A. Chandrasekharan Nair, at Kaithamukku in 1978. Dr. Nair an exceptional physician retired as the Senior Lecturer and Honarary consultant, specialist in Marma, Department of salya chikitsa, Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, He served there for more than 28 years. It was his dream to have a Multi-Speciality Ayurvedic Hospital in Kerala India known for its adoption of Professional standards, both Nationally and Internationally.
His dedication to this field of Ayurveda has been with approved by the number of patients who call on him daily for all kinds of ailment. In order to provide a better treatment under the control of qualified staff, an inpatient unit was started at Kaithamukku in 1982. This was initially a twenty bed hospital. It was started to provide all kinds of treatment as per Ayurvedic lines. A staff of three doctors and other qualified personnel assisted him then.
Presently it has grown into a sixty bedded hospital. Each year around 25000 needy patients attend our outpatient department out of which more than 3000 people get admitted for treatment. Its journey from the humblest beginnings to its prestigious level is due to the hard work and enthusiasm shown by our founder Dr. Nair.
He was born in 1921 in a small village near Alappuzha. Had his formal training from local schools at Kollam. Later joined in Ayurveda college Trivandrum, for Vaidyakalanidhi course. After completion he joined for the post graduate course then known as Marma Vaidya Visharada.
After completion he started working as a faculty at Government Ayurveda College as the head of the department of Marma chikitsa and later served as the honorary consultant
In these capacities he introduced a number of innovative programs in marma chikitsa. People round the globe used to visit him and call upon him for their marma related ailments For much of his life Dr. Nair. has been a pioneering Marma physician. In 1978, upon his retirement at age 55, he started Triveni Nursing Home.
His wife Mrs. M. Anandavally Amma gave full support for all his ventures and was helping him right through. They were blessed with four children. They are presently running this hospital.
